Angels & Demons, author, Dan Brown started his book off with a page labeled Fact. The world's largest scientific research facility--Switzerland's Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN)-- recently succeeded in producing the first particles of antimatter.
It goes on to talk about how Antimatter creates no pollution or radiation, and a droplet could power New York City for a full day. - (Source: Angels & Demons).
I have read all of Dan Brown's books:
I started reading Angels & Demons again the other night and the Fact (page) really caught my attention this time regarding what Dan Brown wrote about CERN. CERN was also noted (not in the fact page of the book) for being the birthplace of the World Wide Web. A character in the book goes on to say that the World Wide Web was a small accomplishment as opposed to the work CERN has produced.
And then the story line went on to talk about a dead body with Illuminati carved across his chest...
Anyhow, it's a great read, but what interests me is the droplet of antimatter that could power New York City for a full day. Dan Brown's Angels & Demons book came out over 9 years ago, and I am sure CERN has made a lot of progress since then on their droplet.
What advances have they made, and were they able to make the antimatter stable? If so, how will our world change when the source of energy is droplets of antimatter, which would replace all current energy sources we use and will be able to power the world? Talk about an energy innovation, CERN would easily make my list for Best Green Companies!
